We just got back from seeing Kristin Hersh, and wow, it was fantastic. I mean, I knew she'd be great--I've loved all her solo stuff a ton (I listened to Hips and Makers nearly on repeat in my car as I made the frequent 4.5-hour trip to a from college back in the mid-late '90s), but I'd never seen her live until now. Turns out I was seriously missing out, because what I didn't realize was what a totally amazing guitarist she is. Really, if she comes to your town, do check it out.
man, i heart throwing muses -- they were, at one time, my favorite band. and hips and makers is brilliant...but i've kind of lost touch with her since then. how's her new stuff?
god, that first throwing muses album can still make me collapse into a blubbering mess...
