I'm not a year-end ranked list type of gal, but I want to rekkonize a few of the records that I really dug this year.

Plus the usual suspects like JV and tMG, but I'd feel a little nepotistic putting them on the list (though they do belong). Also quite enjoyed records by Portastatic, Okkervil River, Propagandhi, Smog, Mr. Malkmus, and I kinda liked that Bloc Party record too. I suppose there are some conspicuous absences from my list, but the records I'm seeing topping many of the year-end lists just didn't move me.

* Update: Christine's record techincally only came out in Canada this year, and will be given a proper U.S. release next year. So if you're looking for in down here, you'll have to wait 'til 2006 or buy it from iTunes.
